A much bigger problem in the US maybe, but this thread here has not exactly filled me with confidence about the UK either. And tbh, my own workplace is also not particularly chill about sick leave.

Its the same at my place in Canada. We don't get sick days, they get rolled up into our paid time off. Nobody has explained whether, if we had to go into self isolation whether we would get paid leave, have to take it out of our PTO or take it unpaid yet.
