If they're anything like the parents at our school, that would precipitate enough panic that the school would kick out by lunchtime.
I'm dreading the first helicopter parent that contacts the Head with their 'concerns', which will inevitably bounce around the whatsapp groups until they look like a zombie apocalypse.

Yes, this concern was voiced to me this morning by a parent friend.
Grrr, it's a quandary.

I'm in my last few weeks in this role and have shitloads to do - I also have my own place to go back to. It also means I can bring her deliveries and come over to walk the dog. Far from ideal, but probably the best.

This thread has made me realise just how much flying goes on amongst my peer group. When did we start flying so much, especially for work?

Around five years ago- English being the language of business means that an English SME can cover a surprisingly large area.

This thing is quite good if you are in front of a computer with webcam. Shouts out an alert whenever you touch your face.

his favourite mode of transport is his own two feet.
A biohazard all of their own.
Fuck me, I've just taken a call from a bloke with a pronounced Russian accent, loads of his fellow callers audible in the background, asking me if I was aware of the exciting new opportunities caused by the Coronavirus. No, he didn't want me to invest any money yet, but he did want me to know about - hangup

Girl on the checkout said someone tried to buy a full pallet of loo roll earlier in the day, but were refused. Are people just trying anticipate the next thing they can flip off on ebay for 5 times the price?
I have a half-finished joke here involving two meanings of 'going short' (running out of something vs. financial trade speculating on falling price) and two meanings of 'getting caught short' (urgently needing to urinate/defecate vs. being financially exposed in a short trade position when prices rise). Although I suspect they may stem from a common etymology.
Can someone finish it off please?

Check your insurance now, you need some that will cover you if the govt recommends you don't travel. You need to have the insurance at the time of the government recommendation to get anything back.

Many glaring (and occasionally fatal) inaccuracies?

Just wait a week and the shelves will be brimming with loo roll and soap. Pure idiocy.

No - Bari is in the South of Italy, not in a category 1 area. This means no requirement to self isolate.
If your GF develops any signs of ill health which could be symptomatic of Covid-19 then yes she should self isolate and potentially be tested.

I saw my first panic buyer in Tesco! She was in the self-checkout queue with as much toilet roll as she could carry. Multiple brands. I couldn't help my head shaking slightly in disbelief, though she clearly saw nothing here is wrong.

The Chinese students were panic buying about a week before ago, there were queues to the back of my local Chinese supermarket all day every day for 3 days apparently, I did wonder at the time whether they knew something we didn’t.

Mandarin?
They won't need TP after consuming that amount of pasta.
