does anyone remember the 90's french classic "la haine"
Great film, Vincent Casell wasn't it?
-
• #1928
Yep - Mrs Ludd is teaching it for French A level (and has done so several years) and she has nothing but praise for the film. It also led us to explore Scorsese more closely.

I’d suggest avoiding Irreversible as great as it is.

I live in Cheltenham and work in Bristol so the advice not to travel by public transport is concerning me
There is no advice not to travel by public transport. What makes you think there is? Are people in Cheltenham being told that?

Hmm, I have a vague recollection of wary reviews when that came out. It wasn’t a Kassovitz film was it?

Try Audition (dir. Takashi Miike). I felt like someone had taken my brain out with an ice cream scoop by the end of it.

They’ve stopped letting you use your own cup at Starbucks now. Seems a bit of an odd reaction? Is that in case people have licked them all over? Prob be better that their staff wear gloves, then wipe everything down periodically, than force thousands more non recyclable cups on people.
The only positive I can see coming is that with more people at home, the roads are going to be a bit nicer to ride on.

Allegedly you can still get the discount if you show your reusable cup so people might remain in the habit of carrying one.

Got my negative result today after getting swabbed last weds. They told me 48 hrs but maybe a bit longer, took 5 days all in all and was really at my limit tbh. Lots of people at work had been sent home to isolate due to mere association with me just in-case.
If any of you find yourselves getting swabbed and given a predicted date, don't rely on it, they're getting massively over worked on this right now and the procedures aren't very transparent to anybody involved it seems. -

London I guess. Any data that shows for how many that working at home might be applicable to? Its currently 0% at my place, manufacturing.
-
• #1948
Yep, my local coffee shop has done the same. Pretty odd IMO, especially as they'll rinse them out with boiling water before putting the coffee in (not sure if this is done at Starbucks mind you)

Surrey Quays big Tesco this eve, totally out of bog roll, most tinned goods, longlife milk. People are dicks.

It's about the staff handling the outside of the reusable cups as those could be covered in germs.
The english love of double carbs, lasagna and chips.
