Some is, some isn't. I'm not sure if Paul Smith specifically do stuff to a price point (they don't with their womenswear but I don't know about the mens) but quite a few do an inferior range. If there's a lot of it then there's a good chance it is a clearance store range. If there's only one or two it's more likely to be end of line.
It doesn’t bother me at all that some stuff is made in house, if the quality is there I’ll take that over blindly buying a recognised brand. Having said that, I do tend to look for Ralph knit ware (sans donkey) because they source decent fabrics.
I think people don’t realise how much stock at outlet stores in made just for outlet and potentially to a quality to match that price point, a Paul Smith suit from Bicester is not the same as one from their Covent Garden store. Same with leather shoes, posh handbags, etc
