Clipping in is quite different. Once in they have quite a bit of - configurable - free float.
You need to be careful with carbon shoes and CB stuff. If the tread of the shoe sits above the contact points on the pedal, the pressure sits on the sole and the wings of the butterfly springs which then wrecks the sole.
Thinking of switching from SPD to CB eggbeaters, is it very different to get used to?
