  • Where do I buy dried porcini now?

  • It's probably a full van load of toilet paper and soap for each delivery spot by now...

  • when I look around and see our proud nation worrying about bum wiping material?

It make it a lots harder on people who’s on low income and can’t afford to buy them in bulks.

  • Bulk buying bog roll when you're on fuck all money is a low priority. I'm guessing. Worrying about electric card/power card/transport/kids going to school because you can't afford to feed them when school is closed/where's the soap to wash after wiping your arse with tap water is probably a bit higher up.

Ed. My point was about people saying "we got through the war." And using that in the Brexit noise. And then probably being the same people that bulk bought 3 ply. And then also making the point that people who got through the war would probably have done similar things before rationing got introduced. Because. Irrational human behaviour.
I appreciate my words aren't always expressing clearly my thoughts.

  • We got through the war.

There was an established black market during the war run by criminals and profiteers.

That’s how we’ll get through a pandemic and Brexit in the same year.

  • I haven't got any hand sanitiser but I do have a large tub of orange swarfega.

also, good advice on the back in case toilet roll runs out...

  • Was going to try this recipe. Any thoughts?

Complete waste of time. Government advice is to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitiser if you can't do that.

One of the reasons for this is that the mechanical action of soap and water is much more effective at removing bad stuff from your hands.

Would the idea be to use this at home? If so, why not just soap and water?

  • It’s for a nappy changing station - you can’t really take a break half way through a toddler shit from hell to wash your hands in the sink.

  • This is why you should have a stockpile. Not because of real danger of shortages, but because some moron might attack you in the supermarket over the last bag of rice

  • More depressing is the fact that the virus I had was really nasty

I think I had this the other week. Riding up and down hills in Wales in my post viral state yesterday (had only stopped feeling like shit on Thursday morning) was, er, fun.

The first morning I had off work I had to call in sick because I literally couldn't get out of bed. It's a bit rubbish to think I've probably got coronavirus coming in a bit too.

  • If only you had some kind of wet tissue like product, close by, you could use in the interim to clean your hands....

  • I’ve stockpiled some. Middle class staples will command premium black market prices.

  • Sorry, hadn't caught up with that bit of the thread. I still think it's a waste of time though and thorough washing hands afterwards is better.

Presumably @hugo7 will be unlikely to touch his face halfway through the process. Otherwise disposable latex gloves.

  • What is this madness? Who would deliberately wet tissues, they go all funny and fall to bits.

  • Also, are victims of coronavirus really going to agree to wear nappies?

  • We got through the war.

During the Second World War, Izal produced sheets of toilet paper overprinted with cartoon illustrations of Adolf Hitler, which were popular with customers but frowned upon by the government because ‘it wasn’t really the British thing to do.’

Izal is also useful as an art material or in making musical instruments.

  • I'm not sure you've ever dealt with an explosion of shit everywhere. And someone covered in it.
To stop the spread of said shit from dirty person to cleaner and back again, thereby rendering process of cleaning fucking useless, it helps if you can clean your hands.
Also. People tend to shit themselves on grand and epic crapatoa scales when something is wrong with their digestive system. You know. Like salmonella, campylobacter, general things. Things that you probably want to wash yourself of.
Regardless of whether you're dealing with a child or an adult, the ability to wipe the shit off you before you transfer some of it somewhere else would be good.

I mean, yeah it would be nice if we could all have epic wet rooms for changing and cleaning and the amazing Finnish toilet hose. But. We don't.

  • You need a better class of toilet tissue.
My four ply bum fresh wet on one side dry on the other is epic stuff.
    Would recommend.
Available only to smug middle class dads like me.

  • Not sure if serious...?

  • I hope you don't flush your four ply bum fresh wet on one side dry on the other.
