I’m sure others have loads more knowledge of the local routes, I’m very much just learning the lanes here. But keen to get out and explore on a regular longer rides on Saturday mornings if people are keen?
Fixed/SS/Gears friendly, just like Outliers Tuesday hills in London’s famous South London

References complete so I'm joining the Edinburgh crew from the beginning of September—can't wait to get stuck in to some of these routes and hopefully contribute the odd one.

I usually have a Thursday off and Sunday morning free, so if anyone is keen to ride any of those days hit me up. Happy to do geared/fixed/gravel and show people around all the good bits if they’re new to Edinburgh.

I might be around this Thursday if that works. Keen to join in some small group rides while I'm there.
Will probably be on my road bike. Looking at weather, thought about taking my winter bike with full mudguards etc, but probably ok with summer set up?

No worries. Did the 50 mile loop out to Haddington. Nice once out in the lanes - pretty much had them to myself.

Nice, glad you enjoyed it
Get out west if you can as well, more interesting elevation and some corking laneage to be had as well

thanks for the NBerwick loop recommendation, i took it the wknd before last (slight adjustments as i'm using Komoot and though it would be quicker just to replot than transpose...?) suited fixed 48x18, very quiet roads outbound and the coast back not too bad as all the traffic was in opposite direction heading to the beach

Glad you enjoyed it (if it was 'my' route you used!)
I'm going out every Tuesday and Thursday at the mo on 40milers, happy for people to join responsibly. I will eventually get some Outliers weekend rides going as well, I hope!
I leave Broughton about 6ish and routes vary with wind direction

Just enjoyed my introduction to the Bathgate Alps with your 04/01 route, @Ecobeard—thanks for sharing, it was a fun first proper Scottish ride!

Is it worth riding laps of Arthur’s seat?
Staying at my sisters in fettes village and she’s been no help on where to train for a Mtb marathon in 2 weeks! -

If it’s MTB you’re looking for you could head out to the Pentlands via the Water of Leith?
As @frankenbike suggested let’s have a place to drop some routes
Here’s my first offerings, based on what I’ve ridden since moving down here/previously.
