Apparently Chinese scientists are still looking into it but they're hinting VERY HEAVILY that it's from the US.

I'd heard there was a run on laundry baskets at Tesco. Got the last one! Bog roll everywhere though.

Hand sanitizer - if it ain't anti-viral it's no better than soap. I think?
I suspect this is a good opportunity to work our way through every bar of artisan-wank-soap that we have been gifted in the last two decades.

artisan-wank-soap
We were re-gifted some vegan artisan soap at Christmas.
One of them is black & scented with cola nuts. It's surprisingly quite nice, and I like smelling like a can of coke.

Hand sanitizer gel is not as effective as soap, it’s the next best that big though. And yeah it works on coronavirus

Don’t feel too smug. That is Anti bacterial not anti viral. And needs 50-60% alcohol.

probably the second nicest squat toilets I've ever used.
You can't just walk away like that and leave us all hanging! Where were/are the best? What made them so good?

Needs at least 60% alcohol.
"The alcohol in hand sanitizers may not have the 10–15 seconds exposure time required to denature proteins and lyse cells in too low quantities (0.3 ml) or concentrations (below 60%)."

Says 73.5% ethanol on the back?
Can see my work getting shut down soon anyway. They’ve shut a sport centre on the other side of Glasgow as one of the women’s rugby squad members tested positive and I think there’s a lot of sports institute staff work both there and over here.

I'd rate soap over sanitiser if only because you wash it off, but if you're nowhere near a sink I guess some alcohol is better than nowt

Sorry. Couldn’t read that bit. Feel justifiably smug!!

the first time the CCP hasn't claimed that something doesn't have Chinese origins
You might want to flip the first negation around. :)

I've got a few litres of Țuică at home. Will that work in lieu of hand sanitizer?
-
• #1642
I’m near sinks but I don’t really trust the plumbing in here. I’ll use tap water in the kettle as it gets boiled but I otherwise don’t drink it and try to minimise any contact with it (ie hand washing).

Mrs m_v says she was in Morissons this morning and they had very little soap on the shelves.
She might mean very little that was cruelty free though...

What do you think is wrong with the tap water?
-
• #1646
Totally unscientific, I just think it’s a bit ‘minging’.
A guy who came to test it once said that we were at the bottom of the building and therefore ‘system’ so he’d advise boiling it.

Coronavirus or no, inhalers tend to be more effective when you take the cap off them...

Huh. But, it's probably not brewing viruses, even if it's a bit more bacteria-prone or mineraly (not a real word).

2nd case in Cornwall. Patient Truro.
This is particularly funny because a) there's not a lot of good Chinese hip hop and b) it'll probably get banned at some point, like rap.
