  • Drugs or drugs?

One is panic buying and should be avoided, the other is the best way to deal with any perceived crisis!

  • Cancel yer cruises everyone

Ramsaye heading to the travel agent later today to see if there’s any cheap cruises going.

  • I used Senate House when I was QMC student and don't recall any soap on spikes in the toilets.

As I said: if memory serves. The soap spikes were definitely in one of the Bloomsbury university buildings I frequented in 1997-01: SOAS, Senate Hse, Birkbeck, ULU, UCL Gower St. Exactly as posted upthread but with the chrome plating long since fallen off and green from oxidised bronze.

  • SOAS bar in 1997 was an excellent place to score.

  • Lee Green Sainsburys has no toilet roll at all. Let the panic buying commence!

  • I'm becoming increasingly worried about the safety of London based Lfgssers. The likelyhood of being killed by a falling coconut is growing daily. Could you please all wear hard hats, especially on the tube. I'll sleep better.

  • @Hovis has hoarded it all

  • SOAS bar in 1997 was an excellent place to score.

    +1

  • I do actually have about 30 rolls in the house...

£2 a roll. Collection only. Paypal gift

  • In both senses of the word. School of Oriental and African Substances innit.

  • So much want for that Texas hand hygiene poster, complete with y´all and the Lone Star. Where can I order some?

  • In both senses of the word. School of Oriental and African Substances innit.

Thought it was named after Soap On A Stick?

  • Power shower up yr hoop, no need for bog roll at all

  • Well done you. Now that we´re on the subject of the legendary SOAS bar circa 1997 and accompanying toilet furnishings, one thing they most definitely DID have back in the day was squat toilets. Such a superior way to poo I find.

  • What are you - some sort of frenchman?

  • I'm flying to the US. At the gates they're pulling out anyone who has been to mainland China in the last 14 days and saying they can't board.

  • They still have them, in the Library and the bar!

  • if I was panic buying anything I don't think toilet roll would be the priority. I mean, "oh no, society is collapsing into feral chaos! How will I wipe my arse?!" doesn't really capture my main priorities of having enough coffee and savoury snacks to last out into the 'catch you neighbours and eat them' phase, which once reached will mean i want enough condiments to disguise the type two diabetes and nicotine saturated human flesh. My panic buy so far has been some honey for hot drinks and a couple cartons of UHT milk which will save me going out if I get sick.

I really don't see there being any meaningful downturn in the production of milk, eggs etc unless the chickens and cows band together and form a union.

  • Bit pricey-er now I’d say, given you’ll need to be heli-dropped onboard

  • Isn't the whole stocking up on supplies just in case you have to stay at home for a few weeks?

  • how many toilet rolls does everyone use in two weeks?! Even if I was shitting myself to death I'd be lucky to clear a four-pack.

  • Depends on whether you live with a female. Amiright?

  • I don't know how many toilet rolls people usually buy at once. Could be just a slight increase
    that now empties the shelves.
