Lovely - my kind of project!
I've got a blue hope threadless headset and a red king (both 1 1/8th) if interested? -
• #6
Very tempting, but I'll hold off on colour on the frame itself I think, and then maybe indulge with some red hubs if budget allows.

I have some Alpkit bars at home that I'm planning to polish up in the same way.

I’ve got a set of ergotec moon cruiser bars with mega sweep for cheap if you want them, say a fiver?
PM'd about other bits as well! -

Slight delay to proceedings caused by "the event", but things are finally starting to come together. Opted for a 26" surly troll fork to provide a bit of additional utility, and an un-imaginative but solid LX/xt groupset to give a greater range of gears over the planned 1x. (A few heavy shops with stuffed panniers reminded me the importance of tiny chainrings.)
Hope to get the headset fitted tomorrow.

I thiiink I'll stick with rim, if only to keep a lid on cost.

What bars are those? Looks great!

This looks great. For clarity, if this is a 20" frame, how tall are you?
-

Soma Dream 31.8. 780mm wide with just enough sweep back.
-
• #20
6'1" - seatpost hasn't been set to my height yet, just popped in for a photo. Does make me look like I'm a giant.

Ah cheers! My wrists haven't been too happy with my ~8 degree sweep back bars lately, 25 seems a far better figure, the Jones bars at 45 seemed a bit much. Where did you order them? Soma always seems impossible to source for me.

sjs cycles has some, and not too steep a price either.
-
• #23
All out of stock. :\

Ahh that sucks. Fun 4 simworks bars are pretty similar, but Freshtripe seem to be the only UK retailer, and they just hiked the price up to £70 and are asking for an additional £9 for postage which put me right off. Maybe email sjs and they'll get some more in for ya?

Unsatisfying evening as my the "final build up" turned into a "2hr hunt for my huge stash of cable outers" which have somehow gone missing in a 3m2 shed. Took another photo to make myself feel better.

Recently moved into a new flat. This one has a garden and, even better, a shed. The holy grail. I can finally own more than one bike.
Pretty tired of doing the weekly Lidl visit in cleats tbh, so any new one was always going to be a flat pedals utility vehicle that I can lock up outside without suffering heart palpitations.
I have treated myself to a 92 Kona Cindercone in size 20". It's black, with great 90s green and white graphics. Planned components mostly in silver to bring a little class.
I have a p2 fork on order with the ability to run a front disk. Playing with the idea of running it fixed. However, will probably end up going with a 1x set up.
Budget is £400 for everything.
First on the agenda: headset, forks, seat post (27.0) and wheelz. Open to all ideas and offers if there are components out there that need new homes.
