Again, not the most helpful identifying characteristic. For a huge number of reasons, not just that there’s definitely crossover with the common flu on that front. Or just a bit of mild panic. Or the joys of self-selection misdiagnosis.
Think of self assessment like a flow-chart.- Does it feel like flu? If yes proceed to If no proceed to 2.
- You’re probably ok.
- Do you think anyone you know has a good chance of being a contact of C19? If yes go to 5. If no proceed to 4.
- It’s probably just the cold. Are you feeling like utter shit? Proceed to question 6.
- Speak to 111, self isolate and wait for the swab results.
6.Does this involve not being able to walk up a flight of stairs? If yes- go to 5. If no, I’m sorry it’s just the flu. Set yourself up for two weeks of misery because the flu is an absolute cunt of an illness.
I know I come across as flippant, but I feel the mainstay of dealing with this outbreak will be stopping the potential panic.
