    I'm guessing the 'water' might trickle out though if the drop is only a foot or so overall.

  • How much comes out is dependant (I think) on two factors:
    1) In part, the difference in height between the supply and the receive vessels but, more significantly
    2) How much vacuum/suck you are able to apply to the liquid you'd like to siphon.

    If you are able to fashion a plastazote foam bung that'll fit snugly into the hose, albeit still be able to slide within the bore, and then pull it through the hose smartly, using a brake or gear cable or two joined together, so that it exits at the receive vessel end, you should be able to get decent pressure.

    As techniques go, it may need a couple of practice goes, but it is certainly doable.
