  • Pegasus is fine, I used them a bunch of times, mostly on short domestic flights between Istanbul and other cities.

Look hard enough and you'll find odd reviews about everything.

  • Many thanks. .no, the concern was that it took a fair amount of scrolling to find anything that much better than a terrible review! Worth a look, 90% (at a glance) of recent reviews highly critical - it's, strangely enough, the weirdness of them that makes me less bothered however the frequency is a bit worrying

  • All that really matters is their not crashing record. Internal flights in early 00s Russia would make any airline look good.

  • Yes, appreciate that's the most important thing but (with two toddlers) a degree of comfort and conscientious service is a consideration. For me, cheap, clean, moderately comfortable and efficient is absolutely fine

  • Sell them into slavery and travel first class on BA.

  • Anyone ever repaired a split hydro brake line using a coupling? Or some other sort of inline doohicky

  • Thank you! Bought some, and they did fit.

I'd imagine the effort and expense would be greater than just getting a complete new line.

  • I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that 3 were killed in a Pegasus 737 crash just last month in Istanbul.

  • Not sure they'd make enough for a Diet Cola let alone a first class ticket!

  • Yeah probably so. Thinking about it because it’s a cargo with zee calipers / banjo connector (not found one long enough)

    Also the routing is annoying.

  • Although tbh I haven’t really looked- I’m sure there are other options for just replacing the fitting and not the whole line

  • If you did this, might it make sense to try and future proof it by using 2 pairs of the couplings so that you can just strip out the main hose, regardless of where the failure happens?

  • Not repaired a line as I usually just replace and the cost of the fitting is more than a new line.

For cars or motorbikes, if I have the old line I take it to a hydraulic specialist such as pirtek. Pirtek are expensive but then they can come to you to fix the broken hydraulic line.

I use HEL HELfor brake pipes on motorbikes as they usually have the kit on the shelf and are cheap. For stuff I have to make myself I use Think Automotive as they guys that work there are really helpful.

  • I can't help but think that you've been looking too hard at reviews, and not the news:

Edit @efb and I seem to share an interest in plane safety. Odd.

  • Ooohhhhh! Ok, given recent issues ranging from near-missed to mishaps to crashes I think I'll swerve Pegasus. In my naivety, I general (I wonder if others do too) expected all airlines operating within the EU and subject to same/similar aviation legislation and standards to have similar safety records, the main difference being a variation in services available. I see now I'm wrong

  • On a positive note, no fatalities on this one.

  • I found this.

My understanding is the banjo connector only comes preinstalled from Shimano. If you swapped the calliper for one that takes a straight connector you/your LBS would have no problem making up a longer hose.

(Also, have you spoken to the bike manufacturer?)

  • Don't you believe in 3rd time lucky? Think of the discounted cancelled seats. They'll have buffed the scratches out anyway.

  • I think jagwire and a few others make aftermarket hoses and banjo connectors that you could run a longer hose from.

  • February's crash was well covered by UK media. I don't look out for these incidents particularly, but one of our work routes is [was] Pegasus into Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

  • Can a siphon system work in the following way; with a ramp up after the initial fall in height, if the gross height difference is a drop towards the target?
