Just a cautionary word about the DD1's - I had read a report online of someones NDS crank arm slipping down the axle over a couple weeks/months. I checked my set which had been fitted for just under 3 months and saw that it had happened too. This slippage had somehow caused the rubber drive-side bearing seal to pop off and was looped around the BB shell.
I think this had happened due to not cranking down the NDS crank bolts enough - I don't have a torque wrench and was a little worried about going ape on a brand new pair of cranks...but have since replaced the BB and cranked down plenty on the bolts and not had any issue so far..

Thanks for the heads up!
External BBs are new to me. They do ask for unnaturally large amounts of torque (~15nM) for such small bolts. I have a wrench that only goes to 10, the extra I did by feel so I'll keep an eye on it.
So far so good.@e54 Thanks man. The Hydra are painted but I think it will come off with acetone.. but I like the look the plus there isn't much else to look at with no paint! haha.
