I'm either missing something or everyone has quick release.
What are people packing in commute bags to take off wheels for punctures?
Does anyone use a ratchet wrench? -

I do have one of these: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F113961528453

One of these, if you have a spare bottle mount bosses it can be attached there (obviously it will be stolen if ever left unattended in London)

I just carry a ring spanner with the puncture repair kit and other tools.

Cool, that's the kind of thing I was considering

This was a few quid off either eBay or amazon (can’t remember now), fits in my little tool pouch that I chuck in my jersey pocket and does the job.
Think it was called a ‘stubby’ spanner in the listing.

I have one of those 'dumbbell spanners'. Used to be very useful to also undo the nuts on my mudguards (otherwise you're already carrying two spanners) and the ones on the chain tensioner, now I suppose the only nuts on the whole bike are the track nuts, so I could in theory switch. It's cheap, cheerful and relatively light though, so why bother. Plus I might need to help someone else with some mudguard with bolts and nuts...

I dig this, stubby is a good keyword.

Hi - bit of a weak Google-fu means I'm struggling to find the correct adapters for a Fulcrum Racing 5DB 142/135 12mmTA (not QR). Thought I had it but it said 6-bolt. Erm, can that make a difference? Anyway a link would be awesome.
TIA

I'm hoping to take my carbon bike on an airplane soon with an Evoc bike bag.
Along with some pipe insulation for the frame itself I'd like to pad the sides of the bag with some additional lightweight foam material - 2-4cm wide. What material should I be looking for?
Ideally something that is cheap, easy to order & won't disintegrate but that will provide some additional protection.

Plastazote available in various thicknesses from Pentonville Rubber (020 7837 7553)
It's the same sort of stuff that Karrimats are made of. -

Camping/yoga mats probably not a bad shout either. Thanks.

Camping/yoga mats
I've been using pieces of various cheap camping mats for all sorts of fragile stuff in the past.
Depending on material you can easily stack it and gaffer-tape your custom shapes as well. -

A pedal of my beloved 1990's Mifa Minirad broke.
I assume this is a standard diameter? Or what sort of size / thread should I be looking for when searching for replacement pedals?
Sorry for the noob question but somehow I'm not sure this is a standard size.

anyone used Pegasus airways/airlines? Turkish budget airlines with quite frankly odd reviews. I'm looking to save £400+ by driving for 5-6 hours to Cambs area to fly from Stansted using this airline however there's some dodgy reviews abut treating women badly, the pilot not knowing which part of the runway to land on and blood on the tray/table! Thankfully many others say, practical, cheap clean comfortable.
any actual experience looking for Stansted -Izmir specifically

Broadly speaking, all pedals use the same (imperial) thread size, so anything you buy should fit.
(Some older French bikes have metric pedal threads, which are almost but not quite the same as the imperial size, but that’s probably not something you need to worry about encountering)

if they're 1 piece cranks they might be 1/2 inch rather than 9/16 diameter no?
