They always come out at maximum extension mate (at least it they’re the type I think.) stick a couple of manual tensioners in, it’ll almost certainly see out the life of the engine.
Yeah they're back in and its just as rattly as before. Reckon I might see what the heads are saying and if it's not horrendous, might just lump some manual tensioners in there. It's a 650, it's not going to rip the chain apart.
Yeah, you'll wear something else out before you snap a camchain with manual tensioners.
I've done way over 10k now since I fitted one to GSXR #1 and haven't had to touch it. Still runs fine (55k ish total now, the speedo and everything stopped working a while back.....)
There is a way to force the tensioner to extend a bit..I think. Or putting a couple of washers some where in the tensioner can't remember if it was the sv tensioner
