SuperSix Evo.
Mmm not sure about that. The carbon seat post was dented from over-tightening at the clamp, so I thought this lump might be from the same, pinching the carbon together at the gap in the seat post collar. Speaking with the seller about it. I'll need a replacement seat post at least.
I saw some photos where they had two seat post collars on it - one above the main one, on the actual post, to stop it slipping down. Not good for the seat post, and shouldn't be needed either if they had used carbon paste, which I don't think they did.
Doesn't really fill me with confidence knowing their team mechanic didn't know what he was doing. Might return and just buy a new SuperSix on sale. Still a few floating about online.

Seems like the clamp is a non issue, not gonna comment on the seatpost though.

Yeah I know all that, I am saying the previous owner did not. Pretty sure that raised ridge in the frame itself, where the collar fits, is due to over-tightening, resulting in pinched together carbon. The frame was not designed with a raised ridge there. See attached image and Instagram link below too, of a bike from the same team. 2 seat collars and dented seat post. Will probably just return it all. CBA with something with issues.

Fitted and rode "moustache" bars for the first time today.
They are actually much nicer to ride than they look!

Polished up really nice, are you gonna add new decals or leave it completely raw?
-
• #125361
I need to sand out a couple of scratches and re polish as they really stand out now it is polished, then i will def be adding new decals. Can’t find anything that will match the fork so i might sand those off.

I highly recommend starting with 30 grit and working up from there with Cannondales.

That looks awesome!
Who made the frame? -
• #125364
Oula it's not that nice ! It's a "cheap" mtb frame. I bought it a few years ago in a more fitness config (flat bar 700c). Was good but as the frame is originaly attended for 26" wheels, the bb shell was a little too high. And I prefer road handlebar.
For reference, here is the older version : -

Does anyone know the chain line on Surly ultra new disc 135mm hubs? More importantly how I can get a good lightweight 135mm chain set with the same chain line?
-
• #125367
I bought it!
-
• #125368
I think it is 51.5/52mm chainline. What would you guys do?

135mm chain set
?

165mm

Anything labelled as Boost-compatible should have a 52mm chainline, SRAM do 165mm cranks at most levels. You need to define your BB and chainring size requirements if you want me to do all the work 🙂

I came across boost but got confused. It’s a genesis day one frame so BSA threaded. I’d like 40+
I had been looking for a few hours earlier but got overwhelmed.

I’d like 40+
You're going to have to buy the chainring separately, and you might still struggle to find a solution. SRAM GXP or DUB will go in your BB, as will Praxis M30, so you can pick any of those cranks.

Depends what size chainring you need. Outer position of a mtb double, or more or less any square taper crank with correct length BB will both be good.
Could also look into using something direct mount with the normal crankset and boost chainring. Likely the majority of rings will be narrow wide so you’ll have to be careful with your freewheel and chain selection.
New page fail.

I quite like the look of the praxis cadet. I’ll wait until I have the wheels in hand and measure the chainline myself before proceeding. Thanks for the help!
Woah that’s a serious piece of hardware. Where are you planning on taking it?
