is there somewhere (an app / platform) that would host the data from wahoo and garmin in one place?
TrainingPeaks
or should i just turn everything off and find a cave go live in?
Also a good solution.

Just switched from Stages to SRM, and now seem to be having really bad problems with my Bolt. Speed reading (I dont have a speed sensor) constantly dropping out for minutes at a time, power readings registering even when auto-paused or not pedalling. Huge chunks of data missing from rides - HRM, power and cadence not being received, nearly 25% of my distance not recorded, despite it showing on Strava map.
I've hard reset the unit to see if that helps, it loaded through some mad boot screens and then needed resetting to get it back into the menus
Wtf is wrong?

What’s a cheap straightforward device I can use for navigation? I like creating routes in Strava and want to export them to something I can put on my bars so I don’t have to keep getting my phone out of my jersey pocket or bag for navigation. All I would like is navigation and ride tracking so I can upload it to Strava afterwards. I don’t need / want to spend $400+.
Should I just buy a Quadlock for my phone?

Cheapest reliable unit for displaying power (from a p2m) and downloading a gps track after the event ( no need for mapping or navigation)?
Some of the cheaper units seem to be ANT+ compatible, but only for speed, cadence and heart.
My 10 year old garmin 705 has gone missing which I sad and happy about in equal measure...

Is wahoo now working with srm? My srm wouldn't work.
Check they're actually compatible via wahoo.

Yeah probebrly.
With airplane mode on will last a while.
If that doesnt work try a 530 garmin.

I've got a PM7, which should work fine now. Why would GPS and HR data not be recorded though?

Any experience of the Bryton 410E? £75, ANT+
Looks ok, but no reviews

I have a Garmin Edge 200 which does what you want. You have to load the routes beforehand and can't do it on the fly but you can track a route and it'll record the ride for uploading afterwards.

Thanks!

Thanks all.
I've had a look at TrainingPeaks; way more than I need. I'm not actually training for anything, just got a bit curious about some metrics like sleep, resting HR, stress.
I'll see how I get on with Garmin Connect which says it can synch with strava.

I was glad to see the last of my SRM. It was an older, wired model but for the "gold standard" I'll take a Powertap, P2M or Qarq over them every day.

The GPS-enabled mobile phone you probably already own + something like a Bone Collection phone holder

It was cheaper than my Stages, including brand new SISL2s, so I'm not complaining too much
(but I am a bit)
-
• #1591
Yeah, but if it doesn't work you've just bought an expensive pair of SISL2s.

Ftfy.
It works inside perfectly, which is why I think it's the Wahoo GPS being a tit -
• #1593
They're still expensive if they have a dead SRM attached to them and the spider rings are the best bit.
Anyway, I presume you don't have a proper SRM headunit to test with? Or another head unit, a Garmin?

I've got a 520 somewhere actually, haven't tried it with that yet

You know what you've gotta do...
LFGSS expects a full report on its desk first thing Monday morning.

• #1596
But that would mean actually riding a bike, not just tinkering with it...
-
• #1597
I used to do that kind of thing. I don't know what I was thinking at the time.

This thread might get you more responses on that kinda thing. I find garmin connect okay for general tracking, the sleep insights are decent enough for example. It's not the best to navigate but having come from fitbit, I'm still satisfied. Calorie usage estimates for a day are way less ridiculous than fitbit used to spurt out at me too.

Thanks - interesting thread.

I've heard from a few different people now that the garmin 530 is good. Battery life is reputably over 30 hours following a track. Or around 50+ with battery save on and no track loaded.
@ChasnotRobert
Depends what you want to do with it. You could just save the raw files to somewhere until you want/need to analyse them. If you're training I'd use WKO or TrainingPeaks, if you just want to see where you went and compared previous rides/runs or willy wave then Strava. I use Garmin Connect only to upload longer GPX files to before throwing up on Strava for the lols. For race stuff, every ride goes into WKO to monitor load, performance, etc.
