That was what I said in my first post
If you'd read the article, you'd already have known that they were admitting to something that was within the limit π

That was ALSO what I said in my first post.
"Why am I asking these questions before reading the article"
-
• #8529
That was ALSO what I said in my first post
Yes, it's almost as though I read your first post and deliberately echoed that element of it π

But are injections banned?
-
• #8531
are injections banned?
It depends. On the face of it, the injections reported to have been used by "Sir" Mo Farah were not in and of themselves in breach of the regulations in place at the time.
-
• #8532
I thought the point was there was no record of the injection made by the U.K. Athletics doctor and therefore nobody knows what volume was injected.
-
• #8533
Their recollection was that the volume was within regulation. Since they were discussing whether it was ethical even if was strictly legal, I assume they read the regulation and deliberately stayed within limits. You don't need a lot of volume for l-carnitine, 1g would be a large dose compared with normal dietary intake (equivalent to about 1kg of beef steak). Injectable solutions are typically sold at 100mg/ml or 200mg/ml.

• #8534
How much Quorn did you need to inject, Mo?
-
• #8535
l-carnitine is not present in Quorn, but it is synthesised in the liver and kidneys from lysine and methionine, of which Quorn mince contains about 1.1% by weight. An couple of intravenous Greggs vegan steak bakes should do it π

Is that within the spirit of the sport?

Watching the panorama doco now. Not dodgy at all...

There's a good guardian piece on this today also

Why'd they use a pic of the female Chinese swimmer?

Yeah, I remember seeing her race in Olympics and had to check to make sure I wasn't watching WWF (as it was back then)

File under "d" for doping and "s" for sinister DS behaviours...
-
• #8545
watched Stop at Nothing again yesterday as an escape from Coronashite.
Man, you forget just how massive a cunt Armstrong was... from the deposition tapes to the press conference attacks to the cancer jesus stuff to the Oprah confessions he's an irredeemable douche.

Be interesting to see if anything comes from this.
-
• #8547
That's exactly what I think when people roll out the whole "everyone was doping, Lance is still the greatest" line
He ran that set up like a mob boss. -
• #8548
Doubt it, doesnβt sound very substantiated.
-
• #8549
yeah... it's the way he so badly fuckin trolled folk with it too.
Also watched the Pantani doc 'Accidental Death of a Cyclist' again-was very kind to him in terms of confirmed doping/retrospective testing but also made it clear Armstrong fucking with him while he was also doping and getting special treatment from the UCI was a massive sore point for Pantani. You can't say Armstrong caused his death but certainly helped push him in that direction... At least other dopers had the good grace to do it quietly and be more humble in the face of their competition.
That was what I said in my first post.
"Or are they going to claim it was under the limit?"
