Talk to a solicitor? CTC/BC/LCC all give you legal support.

I have a BC membership, I just assumed that it would only cover accidents involving others, I'll have to ask.

Got his by a car when riding this the other day, thankfully just the wheels and shifter that were damaged.
That being said I've had enough of this bike now, had it for 7 years, time to move on. So it'll be up for sale soon.

British cycling's legal team offered to sue my LBS, but wouldn't take the case against surly/QBP as they're based in the US.
I should get round to writing them a letter.

really should!

offered to sue my LBS
Is that something you would be interested in pursuing?

Looking forward to see what you come up with!

Glad to hear you're okay. Is it really 7 years, that's quite the statement on this place. I too think about swapping by CdF but keep thinking there isn't much that beats it for money. I'll also be interested in what you replace it with.[edit... then just buy that]

Not at all, its not their fault. Surly/QBP specifically said the rack should not be used because of a fault in the design.

Just went back to the first page: 'I've always loved my Raleigh Royal'. F me man. I remember when that used to live under the stairs... when we lived together... 8 years ago. Jesus Christ. I was but a boy.

The series of events that led to your Panasonic 😎

Yeah I got with amazing nothing more than a slightly sore ankle.
Drive was coming out of the junction where the black car is, I was on the cycle path to the left
Luckily I knew it was a sketchy junction and when I saw the driver coming I was already slowing down. Bike got caught on the car and carried off and I was left on the floor basically unhurt.
Driver just paid the repair bill for the bike without question too which is amazing. -

Good times in a shit house.

I actually had the Panasonic before living with Spotter. Unless that's the chain of events you're talking about? Which was, I was recruited for the Olympic Opening Ceremony by this forums very own @Miss_Mouse and we were then pulled at the last minute but still paid?
@spotter - at least we can look back on it fondly :-)

Oh phew, I didn't think so but also just wanted to check before giving my opinion since you were/are the injured one. I would be sad if my someone sued those guys!

Same sequence of events here a few years ago. Got away with a knee gash and a broken toe. Cabbie looked me in the eyes and drove off, didn't get the license plate unfortunately so no revenge possible.
Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention. It would have been nice to have this before I got lumbered with several thousand pounds of dental bills and permanent facial scaring. I wonder what I can do legally this late after the fact though
