• After some new headphones, not quite sure where to start.

Will be primarily for use in the office, I find it quite a noisy distracting environment at times, so good noise cancelling or isolation is a priority. Would also like to try bluetooth I think as I hate being tethered to the computer, it means I end up not plugging back in when I get up or someone comes to talk.

Last pair of closed back headphones I had made me get quite hot, although that office was boiling in general, but I do run hot anyway. I'm quite concerned that in-ear are screwing with my hearing though, hopefully isolation will help here.

    Budget under £100.

    Any suggestions?

  • Nice, those look worth a punt for £30! I'm sure they'll do the job fine for work duties.

  • OneOdio A9's.

Picked up a pair of these. A big caveat is that I haven't used decent over-ear headphones for closing on 20yrs and these my first noise cancelling ones.

    • Looks and feels wise they seem well made.
    • Quite heavy (250g ish on rough scales).
    • Quite warm.
    • Quite tight, so not so comfy for long periods. But maybe they'll loosen up.
    • Noise cancelling is as stated. Bit of hiss with no music, but really good. Being able to block out all the abnoxious cunts on the phone in the office was heavenly.
    • Sound is good. Ultimately they're using BT from a phone, so there's going to be a limit. On the bassier, richer, fuller, side - which works for me as I struggle with harsh or high trebble... I guess I wouldn't describe them as neutral. As the volume goes up some vocals can suffer a bit on things like old soul or soft vocals.
    • Paid £28 posted off ebay. So TBH DGAF if they're not perfect (although I'm not 100% they're brand new). Worth noting if you buy from AliExpress you can register the 24m warranty. Bit more expensive tho.
    • the mic seems to work well for voice calls.
