• Given UK temperament for not heeding any kind of expert advice, or limiting individual activities in favour of benefiting wider society, that will be any fucking day now.

I'm not so sure - any chance for 2 weeks of netflix on the sofa and we'll be all over it.

But at least we still have free healthcare and can (mostly) afford to take a day off. In the US it's something like $1400 to be tested + no sick pay. Won't take much for it to go mental there.

  • Hmm... Dunno. Take that school trip to Italy-you reckon parents/grandparents etc of the kids have bothered to self-isolate? Most folk will cock their snoot at it in favour of pub/football/cinema/shopping/eating out because more fun than Netflix, even if they told their work they can't come in I recon...

  • You could well be right. I think the current mixed messages aren't helping.

We have a colleague coming over from our Italian factory next week. It's veneto, but not shutdown area, so no reason she shouldn't under current circumstances - I was there 2 weeks ago. But I know she works with Chinese subcontractors... some of whom may have been back over cny....very easy to get paranoid. Probably more risk than a school skiing holiday though.
