yeah - I already run quite narrow bars so that's not an option
basically I want a front rack and bag for my triban rc520 (has mid-fork eyelets rated for a 9kg load), mainly for commuting, but also sometimes longer rides. sick of backpack life, and i have a recurring coccyx and back injury which is making it uncomfortable if I pop to pick up some milk on the way home.
i am thinking spesh pizza rack + restrap small rando bag, or the velo orange transporteur bag, but that solution is spendy.

I have an ILE portuer bag that I have run with a Pizza Rack and a Surly 24 pack rack. I've also had lower back surgery so I can endorse this approach.
Nitto do small racks with decaleurs built in but that's not necessarily any less spendy. The Pizza Racks are heavier than you think though. Happy to share my set up if you want a closer look. I also have a KlickFix bag set up I can show you too if you want to compare.

After trying all possible options for commuting I’ve settled on a carradice super c saddle bag and bagman qr. light, sturdy, pretty expandable/adaptable when you need it/easy to fit and remove and can be carried like a normal bag with a shoulder strap. Front racks are au fait but unless you need the flexibility of strapping stuff to a rack, I don’t think you can beat a super c. Photo below, they’re massive, like 24L max I think? I ran various front rack setups for the last 6 years but decided for commuting I prefer the little bit of weight at the back, without the heft and wind block on the front.
Lots of KlickFix options for bar bags - Ortleib, and Carradice do options if you can't do a decaleur. Takes up a fair amount of bar real estate though.
