Pangolins are endangered and trafficked illegally in Asia, so while I agree that there is a bit of "ewww I don't eat that so no one else should", it's totally wrong for anyone to be eating animals that are endangered.

For example, the eels in yer pie and mash mate. But I suspect someone eating eels will be treated differently to someone eating pangolin.
(I agree with you but making the point that there is definitely racism involved here.)
