  • Usually, if you can put the sprocket on the other way round, it'll have what I can best describe, as an integral collar or escutcheon or flange on one side of the sprocket - meaning that the teeth are not axially central in relation to the overall width of the sprocket - they're off-centre - so may give you a couple of mil in the direction that you want. Or not. All of which sounds way more complicated than it actually needs to and is relatively straightforward if you look at / dismantle it / turn it around and try it.
