What‘s the deal with the Seatpost? Looks like a hybrid between record titanium and nuovo record.

Is it supposed to be as expensive to buy two new chainrings(94 bcd 5 bolt 30/46) as a complete new grx crankset? Why?
-
• #125309
Why?
Complete assembly prices from the main online retail sites are based on the huge discounts they get by buying OEM stream product from Shimano (or SRAM or Campag). There are no such discounts on spare parts. Hence while RRP on an assembly built from the spare parts catalogue will only be about twice the RRP of the assembly sold as a unit, that rises to more like four times when you compare actual selling prices after discounts.

Thanks. This is sad. How are we ever going to consume less? I’m perfectly happy with the large chunk of aluminum that i already have.

How are we ever going to consume less?
By inheriting money from boomers when they die and leave our jobs

Waiting for our parents to die so that we can afford chainrings over cranksets?

progression of my track bike over the last few months, most recently the addition of a rack. seems a bit redundant atm as I put it on to avoid sweaty rucksack back but it seems to just be cold and wet 24/7?

Hehe :) i think I once saw a similar seatpost on lbc with a titanium tube and the top part of a super record single bolt seatpost. The ad said it was home made. If I went trough the trouble of making a custom seatpost I definitely wouldn’t use the campag two bolt system, it might be very robust but changing a saddle is a major pita cause you can’t access the bolts properly. Still a great bike though...

Any opinions on GP5000 vs Open Pave clinchers? Road use - no gravel, footpaths etc. 25 wide, on Ksyrium Elites, for the previously mentioned SuperSix Evo. I prefer the looks of the OP and the grip is meant to be excellent, but the 5000 might last longer and possibly faster too? Both supposedly have good puncture resistance.
Readying all the bits for tomorrow. First time buying an ex-team bike. Hope it's got some life left in it for me.
