  • yes.
revelate gear will always be the best.

  • Keeping my eyes open for a medium Revalate Tangle frame bag if one comes up...

  • I have one. do you wanna swap w/ your viscacha?

  • It’s to complete the set as I picked up a handlebar bag on here earlier in the week... thanks for the offer though.

  • It does look like a carbon copy of my revelate bag. But in a crowded market, beyond the trek fan boiz, Lance deniers - they probably won’t do great.

  • And they do offer own-branding on their bags so it may not be underhand.

  • Full framebags, do they generally have one big compartment inside, or are they subdivided, and if so, how?

  • Depends on the bag. Some are divided vertically, others horizontally, some not at all.

IME dividers are either sewn in with a separate zip for access to a lower compartment (if split horizontally), or (more commonly?) use wide velcro that overlaps to create a divider, or can be undone to allow full access to compartment.

    Example:

  • Compartments make sense to me but harder to make/maintain a degree of waterproofing.

  • If you want waterproof, you've probably got to weld your bags (see Porcelain Rocket), in which case, weld the divider in.

If you're sewing then line the sides and stitch any dividers to the lining rather than the outer. Will improve waterproofing slightly, but it's easier to put water-sensitive things in drybags and just let everything else get wet/let any wet things you put in there dry...

  • Dividers are also also there to prevent bulging on full frame bags if the triangle is particularly large.

  • so essentially i am making a long thin fabric box. with a zip.

i think i can 3d print some corner braces to go inside it to give it a bit more structure. They should glue in place.

ironing the folds should give it a bit more shape too.

    Haven't heard of them before.

  • I really like it, looking forward to doing an overnight trip around Easter

  • Nice, kind of what I was thinking of before ending up with a step through Bob Jackson.

  • step through Bob Jackson.

Any pics/details? Not sure I've ever seen one for real.

  • progress

  • Here you go, my first frame in over a decade that maxes out at 32mm tires. :0

Currently in coaster iteration, no pics of that right now.

  • Test fitting in the dark is hard, but broadly it seems to fit.

  • Overnighter in Norwich

  • Looks awesome from the photos!

  • That is definitely going on the list

  • good route there, that's my home turf so have cycled all of that lot several times

the bure valley railway path is an alternative you could also do, it is also possible to get a lot of the way down the coast on the coastal path from waxham south along the dunes if you want to get off the roads. it's quite sandy though obviously

  • Progress. Printed some corner pieces to add support to the bag. Waiting for a zip to arrive.
