  • Anyone know what this is ? No frame number but has Reynolds 531 stamped into the downtube.

Thought it might be a Carlton.

Can people respond with @PhiljimPott as its a busy thread. Cheers

  • I don't know the frame, but the tubing is columbus Gilco

  • thanks - maybe a cinelli built frame? only found one other gerber frame with gilco tubing online so far.

i've seen it parked up again - maybe next time i see it i'll leave a note to see if the owner has any more info.

  • Hi,
Could you help me identify the manufacterer and or brand of this old mountainbike fork.

I Searched for ibex, capricorn, steinbock etc. but unsuccessfully

I bought it in a lot consisting of a 80’s Pinarello MTB Frame with sr parts and deer head derailleur.

The previous owner tried his luck in another forum but no feed, so any idea or lead would be great.

    Thanks a lot

    Thanks

  • What brand (if any is this seatpost) - marked 'sort of' JD - though could be anything? and 'Coyote'

  • Coyote are a bike brand - still around now: https://www.avocetsports.co.uk/coyote
JD are a generic far-east parts manufacturer.
I'm guessing this was fitted to a middle of the road bike (road or MTB) around 2000 ish

  • Just picked this up off Gumtree and think I may have found a peach, but can't be too sure!

What is this Moser I just bought, why does it have ropey hand painting and what is Columbus Doppio Spessore tubing?!

I think it's got a hanger for a racing number so imagine it's pretty... nifty?

  • Has number plate tabs.

  • If this is an original sticker, Columbus Cromor is a Molybdenum alloy steel (steel is 'acciao'), it is a little thicker and heavier than SL. I think the rest just means double butted. In other words a perfectly good tubeset but nowt special.

  • As I may consider selling it soon it would be nice to know what exactly I'm trying to sell.

I think I've found only one other bike branded Plieger, therefore I suspect it just being a repaint not actually bike made by Plieger. Before, somebody said it might be Columbus Airplane tubing. Tubes are butted and extremely thin. With all these fu*ktone heavy parts it's still just 7,1kg.

By looking for track bikes with Columbus Airplane tubing I've found only one Faggin that looked similar. The Faggin had smooth welds and a different size of the seatpost.

  • Not sure where to post this, but I’m not sure what size thread my Cinelli “spoiler” bottom bracket is, I assumed it was an ITA But after measuring the width I’m now thinking if it’s BSA?

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

  • Can anybody identify this?
It has a sora group, and i think it came with a riser/flatbar originally.

Seller has almost no info on it.
The text on the add just says its a "Kona Dew Hybrid"

  • I think that's a Kona Dew Drop.

  • It turned out to be a Kona Dewey that was modified with a drop bar and a carbon fork 😊
    Picked it up this Saturday.

Still has a few things I want to change. A new saddle and a narrow wide chainring

  • I can't find any information on the Interweb on this headset. Stamped on the side of the headset there is the name Brevete B.F (not F.B) and on top I can read: Made In France.
Has anybody seen this headset before?

  • Is this the right topic to ask about price of older bike? I have I guess 80’s Bianchi road bike laying around I would like to perhaps sell.

  • just some dark room iphone snaps.
    Thank you for help.

  • Wonderful. Merci!

  • Probably a bit late here but doppio spessore means double thickness

  • I posted separately, but then realised I'm supposed to post these things here, sorry.

I was given quite a nice old tourer some years ago. I think it was a custom-built bike. The only identification is "BSB 400" in a 1980s typeface, as in the attached image.

It's Reynolds 531, has cantilever bosses and 130mm rear drop-out spacing.

It's an extremely pleasant bike to ride, and I have stripped it down to have the frame repainted.

Any ideas who built it or where it came from?
