Do you know what's up with it? Worth getting a mobile mechanic out if it's not too serious? My old transit broke down years ago, couldn't get it running and it worked out cheaper to pay a mobile mechanic's inflated rate than it did to pay to get it towed to a cheaper garage.

Haven't a clue, it's throwing an ignition fault code according to his diagnostic tool, but that could be anything from a relay to a blown ecu. Google tells me blown engine ecu's are not uncommon in e90 bmws. They're at the bottom of the windscreen where water can pool, seeping through the rubber o ring and submerging the ecu.
I considered trying the cheap and easy potential faults first, before going to a mechanic, but tbh I just couldn't trust the car to not do it again until a decent mechanic has given it the all clear.

Any non marque specific mechanic recommendations in or near Camberwell? Had to get it recovered to my house given its a Saturday eve, not driving so hoping for the shortest possible flatbed collect and deliver...
