Did we grease the headbadge bolts?
-
• #355
Not sure but the bolts are weak as fuxk so don't remove

The feeling of being in the same room as dodgy compressor compressing...
Also: sorry, forgot to measure the Univega seatpost. But seems your frame is made from different tubing. Maybe because its larger. I bet they’re made the same year.

No worries. I found matching seatpost for both Univegas. Each in a different size.

Great!

The lens on my phone makes the cockpit look quite weird. I've booked an online cockpit fitting where @Hulsroy is going to shout 'bars down, levers up' while I readjust the position 5 or 6 times.
Need to sort a post mount to post mount adaptor for the front and maybe a sexier Ritchey stem too.

post mount to post mount adapter
Overengineering?
-
• #362
Possibly, but with a 160 mm rotor I still need around 15-20 mm of spacing to align the caliper correctly
-
• #363
Ohhhh, I was making a joke as I thought you had meant to type flat mount to post mount adapter. Scratch that one

Got the Univega sorted and sold. The Raleigh is gone too.

The GT came with a pair of wheels with Shimano M475 disc hubs, but rimbrake rims. Cones were loose and pitted, but the grease and balls looked new and the bearing surface on the hubs looked good too. I have a pair of wide disc brake rims that'll hopefully be a straight swap - just new nipples for good measure. It seem silly, but new cones are more expensive than new hubs, so I ordered a cheap (4 EUR) Shimano front hub to transplant the cones and balls from. I had a Linus rear wheel with a broken freehub, but good cones that'll sort the rear wheel.

Black/blue and gold Lavadome is wicked

His choice too. Paint is quite ratty, though. And he wants a bouncy fork, the hunt for something decent and canti is on.

The Muni-Mula came with Deore XT brakes and rear derailléur, Mavic Crossmax with good Schwalbe City Jets, Rudd cranks, LX triggers, Avid levers and a smooth BB. Cost £40.
1996 GT Outpost. 4.35 kg with BB and headset. Chunky.
Will get some random parts (incl. mudguards) and the City Jets and become a decent beater.1995 Kona Lava Dome. 3.30 kg with BB, but without headset.
I'll sort a 26" suspension fork for this one and the ever lovely @Hulsroy has offered to sort out a rear disc bracket. Will need to find some decent and lightweight wheels too.1997 Kona Muni-Mula. 3.15 kg with BB and headset.
Will stay V-brake, because alu, so it'll keep the Deore XT parts and the Mavic wheels. A V-brake fork would be nice, but is not strictly necessary. It'll get the lightest fork I have laying around. One thing I won't find in the garage and will need to sort for all three are cranks and saddles. @Simba had a lead on some decent Sugino cranks that might work. Otherwise I'll have to go pillar drill and pedal thread taps...

I’ve got a spare one of these off a 1994 Lava Dome if you’d like it, and are not set on discs?
(Shit photo, but it’s the canti stop that sits on the seat tube)

I'm pretty sure I have a Sugino triple (110/ 74 bcd) in 165mm if that could work for your kids bike?
-
• #373
If Jesper doesn't need/want that I could use one for my sister in law.
-
• #374
That would be nice.
-

That would be nice too. And then Mads and I can fight over it, when I see him next time.
Remember to clean your bike...
