If I was more southern, then I'd be all over that.
Servo post mounts arrived for my TRF, had to go for DT 02 ones, as they look identical, hope they fit, otherwise it's 8 weeks deliver for the N parts tree from Tamiya. If they don't I'll have blingy hopped up servo mounts in the Sand Viper! -

One big issue with the kits is the plastic/screw combo. The abs has a tendency to crack in places when using the self-tapping screws (not to mention that they are JIS screws and not phillips/posi).To avoid it I’ve bought hex head screws and I'm tapping every hole. #tapthat #nthdegree
Better to Helicoil the plastic: https://www.boellhoff.com/gb-en/products-and-services/special-fasteners/thread-inserts-helicoil.php

Got some paint on it. Slight departure from box art - I masked the windows. Thought about doing a quick coat of the black to give them a tint but decided against it in case it affected the silver coat.

Yeah, but for m3 its a bit overkill. Also its a plastic car, so parts canbe replaced easily

It will be, when it'll steer!

With regards the black over the silver, as long as the silver is on thick enough, the black shouldn't show through. The TRF shell I got is white n black, but the whole of the inside is black. Like so......

The metallic silver is super thin and somewhat transparent - I think a black coat would have greyed it myself.

Can you test it on a bit of scrap bodyshell off cut?

What it does is change the tone, white backing brightens and black takes the tone down. Mines gonna be translucent red with a gun metal backing. :)

Busy night, got the whole rear gearbox built, with the hop-up alloy motor mount and plastic gear set, full ball races and modified gear case bolts.
Lubed with a drop of Boesheild T9, used to use finish line dry lube when I raced, so this should do the trick nicely.
Added some extra countersunk washers to help spread the load out on the shock tower mount, see if that helps. Finally got some Ti turnbuckles and Low Friction rod ends for the upper arms, looks sharp!

Tidy!
Yeah I'm backing metallic blue with silver, then a quick blast of black for the windows. -

Is there a recommended fast charger, or are they all much alike for a price point?
I'm planning on getting 2 x 3500mah batteries, if they makes any difference (happy to charge them consecutively)

Here we go.
My opinion but u should not go cheap on charging. 😎

Yes, especially if it is lipo

Absima, Core RC and Overlander all make respectable and safe chargers at good prices
The kit reviews are something else. Insanely detailed.
