So smooth. Especially considering some of the welds on their other models at that time were pretty chunky. If it was smaller I'd be all over it.

Also, it just looks very stylish and sleek. After all, it's from the same decade when Colnago painted bikes like this.
Actually having said that, I kind of wonder whether that's actually the original paint...? Maybe that's just me being paranoid, but it looks a bit weird in parts, especially the way it's rubbed off around the rear dropouts.

Top work from @SideshowBob - a couple of stunners.
Guy selling the Taylor Gate also has a nice Paris Galibier.

Astonishingly cheap sets of Praxis chainrings here:
I've ordered a set and am hoping they're not fake, will report back
-
• #62062
So sad they're not 110bcd and compact / semi!
-
• #62063
Absolute steal! Wish I could justify it.

• #62064
Damn! What a bargain. My size too :'(

For longevity and low cost it´s hard to beat Claris steel rings. A set will set you back about 20 quid from the usual German suspects. The big ring comes with a silly plastic cowling to make it look more expensive I suppose. I just chuck it off.

huh, I think that's my old frame. bargain price

• #62067
I'm really trying hard not to buy this cheap and turn it into a shopper/allotment hack. Edit: it's currently £8.50

Fake Colnago Pista that's wrong in so many ways:
-
• #62069
Out of interest and because I don't know much about these kind of frames, what makes it obviously fake? Is it just very different from what a Colnago Pista is supposed to look like?
-
• #62070
Fully expect to be corrected but two things are the bottle bosses and the frame number on the BB shell (I think they're usually on the driveside dropout.)
-
• #62071
also the fact that the head tube logo has been made on MS Paint

I've never seen a Colnago Pista in the flesh either but I don't think they would be fitted with a pump peg on the seat tube nor a non-pantographed drilled fork. The bottom bracket shell just looks wrong and take a look at the clover leaves on the lugs - they aren't the right shape and instead of being indentations they go all the way through.
-
• #62073
Cheers, all good points. Especially the clover leaves are quite clear now that I'm looking at it properly - they're not at all the right shape.

Colnago looks like a Roy Thame frame during their 70's phase of cutting clover leaves into everything lol, forks not period though. Frame number in right place as well....
Mercian Strada Speciale crossed my mind but its not one of them.

They've arrived, and they seem legit. All the ramp pins are in the right places, finishing is mostly spot on. The small ring does have a little imperfection around one of the bolt holes, but it doesn't look like it'll cause a problem. Perhaps they're seconds and why they're cheap? Either way, for sub £30, not bad
Wow, those welds are so smooth it almost makes it look like a carbon frame.
Considering they're using the word 'lightweight' in the title though, it'd been nice if they gave an actual number for that.
