I have tinnitus as a result of police motorcycling with loud earpieces (before proper integrated helmet speakers) and 20+ yrs of firearms training. This lispy, crinkly, whispery bollocks does my head in.

Well no. I used to watch a lot of bands of the likes of Motörhead and subsequently I passed all my firearms hearing tests whilst employed. It's all come on since retirement. I haven't ridden a motorcycle without wearing earplugs for the last 20 yrs.
