One thing that makes me laugh about the "taken out of context" line, is that from what I've read it is the context of where and how some of these statements were made that makes them so inappropriate.
For eg if it was someone relaying what he said during a uni tutorial/pub/similar at that age it could well be that he was just taking up a contrary point for the purpose of argument.

does it not almost look more like trolling? It's hard to believe someone commenting like that in ernest! But then you have those incel threads I guess

wasn't the eugenics or racism that got him, it was creepy Reddit comments talking about the "theological" justification for basically coercing your wife into being "39 flavours of slut" and stating his interest in incest porn...
