Skinny has slept for two hours, which let the gap go back out again, was down to c.30km and now at 60km. But it looks like Sofiane has now stopped.
Skinny is where he was 7 hours ago, so he has a reasonable buffer, but he must be knackered. If Sofiane has 4 hours sleep and then feels ok, he is probably favourite now. But will be exciting -

Sofiane only stopped for an hour.
I reckon Skinny has more chance the longer Sofiane goes without a decent rest as he is more likely to blow up and need a longer break. -

Was it the valve broke and he couldn’t get the nut off, so cutting bathe valve?

if your going to save a dudes race - do it with a leather jacket and an angle grinder.
-
• #143
Maybe also while smoking a cigar and ask someone to hold your beer/mint tea.
Maybe, it's the valve, if there is a piece of broken valve core in there, otherwise he could've just changed the core.
Maybe he wanted to put a tube in the tyre but couldn't get the tubeless valve out. -

Note to self: carry spare valves

Sofiane instagram: said he slept a bit, not planning on sleeping anymore till the finish as he feels James is chasing him. Madness.

Skinny was having a good day. He looks like he has got the gap down to 4 hours. But that valve cost him over an hour, or it would have been three. It's not out of the question that he can catch Sofiane, as there's still a bit of climbing to come, but it will be tough.

I think Sofiane will most likely win this, but I also think he made a mistake last night. Skinny clearly riding faster than him now, even with time lost for valves. But if Sofiane had had a decent sleep last night he could be much fresher and so ride faster. But a night of plodding slowly means he has lost the buffer he had to have extra sleep.
Skinny had a couple of hours so he should be good to chase to the finish.
So sofiane hasn’t slept at all? With over 300km to go? I recon it could be close!
