Looks great Richie! You'll be chomping at the bit to get out in it.

Late reply. My dad wrestled with this for a while. He's ended up with a MK7 GTi PP with DSG. He liked the spec of a GTI (cloth seats etc), they are plenty quick enough and didn't see the need for awd. The one he found wasn't the exact colour and spec he wanted so he is talking about going for a new MK7.5 if he can get a good deal but whether he actually ponies up for it is another thing.

EVERY car should be low as fuck IMHO.

apparently, with a b racer, the limit is the 100mm required to pass scrutineering. they'd have them 5mm of the ground if they could

Moving from 250 swb to electric cars.... I've had a leaf for a few years and still don't quite know what i think of it.. Anyone else gone electric?

Need me some car tools.
E sockets, big and small torque wrenches, trolley jack, axle stands.
Cheaply as possible. I can borrow all the above currently, but moving forward it’s obviously not practical to always be borrowing.
Second hand? Brands to go for/avoid? -

tbh for home mechanic-ing (in the UK) you can't go wrong with the halfords advanced range.
I would keep an eye for the sale as it's regularly heavily reduced, i bought their top range 2T trolley jack for £84 delivered and the stands were £24 a pair.
Torque wrenches can be spendy though, might be worth looking 2nd hand, maybe one from Sealey, or Norbar if you can find one for the right price

halfords advanced range.
Would recommend. Lifetime warranty and exchanging anything is hassle free.
