  • Bought this lovely frame and forks from another forumenger about 5 years ago and built it up with help from Rob at Sargent an Co. Had a lovely few summers riding it in the summer in good weather but really it's had very limited miles and still in great nick. Some details from the original advert:

    Frame size - 23.5".

Frame resprayed metallic silver, restickered, laquered in 2011 by Hewitt Cycles, forks and original Viscount headset rechromed.

This Viscount is made from Phoenix Tube Co. Ltd. '1027' grade CroMo steel. Thinner walled than Reynolds 531 yet has basically the same tensile and yield strength. Lovely low temperature fillet brazing - no lugs obscuring crude tube mitring here! Forks have Vagner forged crown and Suntour drop outs. These are NOT the alloy death forks. This is one of the first Aerospace Pros that came factory fitted with CroMo forks.

Genuine Viscount bottom bracket spindle fitted and at the time the bottom bracket bearings were brand new. I put a NOS Shimano 600 1st edition groupset on, including hubs laced to Open Pro's built by Arup of this parish. The spacing between the rear dropouts is 125mm and seatpost size is 26.8mm. Brooks B17 and matching bar tape, VO mudguards and pasela panaracers.

    The bad:
Two small dints on frame that are NOT structural. Some marks in the lacquer where wheels, front derailleur and gear levers have been been attached (unavoidable). The front mech arm rubs a little on the mudguard. I can photograph as required. There are no bottle bosses but I fitted some VO adaptors which are now on another bike and can supply for free.

Final notes - I fitted a no-name front rack which took two panniers, which I can sell with this as well. They are black and white carradice in decent nick.

I'll start at £420 based on the original pricing minus the fact it's been ridden about 200 miles. Based for viewing in E17 and whilst I could post I'd rather sell locally. No splitting. Happy to take any questions.

  • Super nice and good ad too. Early summer touring! GLWS

  • Price drop to £400

  • Where'd you cop the Love sign from? It's nice.

  • This is beautiful and a bargain.

  • Thanks @matteroftaste

Another sad price drop: £375. Maybe someone with l'Eroica ambitions?

  • Still trying to shift this, had a couple of lovely touring rides already this summer but it needs to go to a better home. Some new photos attached.

    £350 collected in NE.

  • Lovely bike and amazing bargain. Too big for me but have a bump

  • And another weekend bump! Lovely bike!

  • Had a few people ask for more definite measurements. Whilst the original post stated a 23.5" frame, I think it is a fair bit smaller which makes sense given what I usually ride:

    Seat tube C-C: 58cm
    Seat tube C-T: 60cm
    Top tube: 57cm

I can measure stack and reach if there's interest.

    For reference I'm 6'2".

  • Could you measure centre BB to top of saddle for me, and if its less than 835mm is there enough seatpost before the min. Insertion line to get to 835?
    Thanks
    Hugh

  • I measured 845mm so it should fit you. Welcome to view this weekend as I'm around.

  • £320, please take this away...too nice to be sat in the shed any longer.

  • I am now under immense pressure to get rid of this for imminent baby reasons - priced at £300 but I'll accept offers if you can collect in the next week or so...please!

  • I've got a set of old-style Carradice front panniers to throw in as well in black.

  • Nice bike bump.

I'm quite interested in the panniers...

  • Very nice indeed. I'll ask my younger (taller) brother whose bike was nicked recently

  • I used to have one of these frames, it was lovely... good luck with the sale!

  • I'll get some pictures up for context.

Open to offers on them as well as the bike..

  • Looks great buddy PM'd you

  • Hi/ Very keen. Let me know if this is still available.

  • Still available. Might have a viewer this weekend, welcome to come and have look yourself.

  • What a dream. Still taking up space or has this now found a good new home?
