Let’s put it like this...... if you see a brand like Campagnolo using this tech across the board including their Bora range, you can rest assured there’s more to it than mere marketing.
I don’t have the numbers to back it up but having owned and used the Shamal Ultra / Shamal Mille / Zonda DB / Bora One 35 and 50 / Bora One DB / Bora Ultra 50 / Bora WTO in 33, 45 and 60mm which all feature G3 pattern, I’ve got some experience with these wheels. It’s not the easiest wheel to work on if you don’t have the right tools or training, but then again, I’ve never ever had an issue with them. Everything from Paris-Roubaix cobbles to Dolomites descents.
Replacing a freewheel body i.e is a walk in the park, don’t worry about that type of work. In case of a broken spoke, I’d recommend getting it serviced by the Campag service center. Unless your dealer has been trained accordingly, I wouldn’t let them touch it.
Cool thanks, the video at the end explains it nicely
Do you happen to know whether G3 in fact makes a difference (i.e is measurable) or whether it is more on the marketing side of things?
Ps awesome photos
