Mmmm. I could send you this I guess.
A 28.6mm seat post clamp could also work for you if you file down the collar/lip.Then you didn't have to worry about painting it

Would the design be able to accommodate a motor or would that be a back to the drawing board situation?

That's really good. Must feel great to see it built up after all this time!

wayyyyyy too easy with Bafang

That could easily be done. But this bike is not heavy so motors are not necessary.
I would like discuss motors on bikes actually. I think it is a bit of a slippery slope.

Thanks yes. It is a bit weird. I want to do it again tho. There is sooo many imperfections on this.

Amey can describe the hill that I live on, and which has mitigated against a cargo bike appearing in my life thus far.

But this bike is not heavy
With nothing on it ;)
What is the weight out of interest?

I can recommend a cargo bike with a Bosch CX motor (the new gen4 motor looks pretty good!), makes hills a non issue. The motor is torque-y enough to deal with going up them fully laden.
Can’t speak for bafang and other options as I’ve never used them :)

What do you mean?
Ah just pondering that the hinge of the stand looks quite far away from you when you are standing over the bike. But if you have no problem with pulling it onto the stand then it’s not an issue

Before modifications it was 20kg build up as single speed.
Is there a wattage formula somewhere? Would be nice to know what sort of power output is required so one can judge whether motor is required or not.
I think I am of the opinion that if you can't ride a bike without a motor support you definitely should not be using a motor to do so. Being physically able to control the bike is necessary for it to be safe and if you take on a loaded bike you can't ride and put a motor on it it ends up even heavier and harder to handle. That is a recipe for failure.
When my granny turned 80 they bought her a electric bike so she could ride well into her old age. First time she tries it she looses control over it (because of the weight) trying to get on and falls and breaks her hip. She hasn't been able to ride a bike since.

I'll do a little video of it later.

Maybe I am wrong. I don't know.

I read this as doing a little video of your gran falling!

I can only just make it up the hill to Dammit’s house on a 7kg bike
Yes please, how can I get one?
