It's about time that rule was rethunk.
No it's not. The aim of that rule is to deter people who want to just spam every possible message board with an advert for their stuff. Pricing on here is often different from elsewhere partly (to my mind) because this is a real community and people see the value in this being a marketplace where the driver is a shared love of bikes, rather than a love of profit. If maintaining that atmosphere means losing the odd bike to eBay, so be it. It's not like you can't check there too.
