I've heard some awful protest songs in the last year or so. At one (non xr but linked to it) planning event it was announced there'd be an impromptu sing along, "here's the words join in everyone" kind of thing as a guitarist appeared. It was all very awkward so I walked away. Others complained about this to the organiser afterwards too which was reassuring.
