Also, I'm reading this at the minute. I wouldn't say I'm "enjoying" it because of the subject matter, but it's really well written and hard to put down. It's non fiction but reads like a novel. For those unfamiliar, the Dinner Party were a group of people migrating from Illinois to California in the mid 19th century, they tried to take a shortcut across a desert and through the Sierra Nevada mountains and it really didn't go very well. I actually had a weird, anxiety inducing dream about owning and subsequently losing a mule last night which I can only attribute to reading this.
