Yeah, that kind of thing, though they only seem to have the yellow/black 'mess' left.
-
• #4
What colour you after. I think we've got a few oddments in the warehouse.
-
• #5
Grey frame that's getting covered in beer labels... so I was thinking the most colours possible so that the whole bike just looks like puke.
-
• #6
I think we've got something that would suit. I'll have a look next time I'm down the warehouse. Are you in a rush for it?
-
• #7
Cheers! No rush at all. I'll only need it if/when I find some nicer brake levers.
-
• #8
OK. I'll have a look for some levers as well.
-
• #9
thumbs up
Do you work in a bike shop or something?
-
• #10
I got loads of sets of SRAM S500 levers all missing hoods if any use.
-
• #11
They'd definitely be more comfortable than the old 105s I've got but what are they like without hoods? Usable? Can you get replacement hoods for 'em?
-
• #12
No, I'm retired, but mending bikes is my hobby - bit of an anorak, really.

I think they're the best single speed levers, tester approved even (??), nice wide hooded area. New hoods are about £18 iirc
-
• #15
Probably more than I wanted to spend (which was about £0) :) but could be an option.
How much do you want for a set of levers? -
• #16
mending bikes is my hobby
Mending bikes is my headache. You want a job? :D
-
• #17
Nowt, send me an address and I'll bung 'em in the post today
-
• #18
Nah, like being retired. I only work when I want to.
-
• #19
Sounds like me now.
Don't tell the boss. ;)Working on bikes though seems bloody constant for me. Missus is getting more skills though so can do a lot more stuff but we seem to wear stuff out a lot with the big miles and I've got upgrade-itis.

Champ! I'll PM you
Maybe you have some shifters that are broken but the brake levers still work?
Maybe you have some brake-levers only that you don't need?
My pub bike has old 105 brake levers and I want to swap them for longer, modern brake levers like DA 7800 or newer. It's a pub bike so they gotta be free or cheap, hence thinking borked shifters might be ideal.
Remember that hideous splotchy bar tap from the 80s and 90s? Some of that.
