Alas not. This was just a town centre bar (a Revs of all things) where the bouncers ID everyone on entry, photo ID in a machine that keeps a temporary copy of it and checks if you're on a banned list. Similar to the US bars that ask everyone for ID just so they don't offend people by not asking.
I haven't been asked for ID other than that for a good 20 years. Lunch time drinking at 6th form was The Flying Pig.

I was at a Jerry Lee Lewis gig in Memphis back in the 2000s, I was 38 but unable to buy a drink because I didn't have a driving licence... They wouldn't accept my passport as ID... My friends had to buy me drinks all night, it was ace...
We have the photo ID thing in Oz now, I think it's a good thing if it keeps the meat heads out...

I've never been ID'd for a pub/bar. And I was going to them at lunch time in Sixth Form.
