• I said you'd be getting unsolicited advice -have you considered spreading the load over a greater area around the fixings? Something compliant to accommodate the curvature of the fork (I've used tap washers, filed to fit) and maybe repair washers immediately under the screw heads?

  • Designing it to fit the curve of the fork is hard (for me). Washers under the bolts is good shout though.

    Not having the foot means I need to make more straps but currently can't find my webbing.

  • You don't need to be exact - the rubber will deform to some extent, and it should be possible to file a bit more off the 'high' spots where it touches - if you're thinking of commercial production, include the phrase "file to fit" in the instructions. Here's one I made while waiting for tea to brew...
