Thanks for that, lovely. Interesting changes--the shops converted into flats and the entrance to the church changed from (presumably two) small side entrances to a larger central doors. There's a church in Haggerston, St Chad's, which still has the such entrances, although its layout is very different.

Found a picture (on facebook) taken right outside my house from what I guess is early 1900's. I took a pic form the same spot. Comparing them, it's amazing how little has changed…
