• Gf’s mid 2010 MacBook Pro is slowly dying a death. Hasn’t got the money to replace it but would like purchase and fit a new battery, and replace the spinning disk with an ssd. Are there any other worthwhile upgrades to be done?

    We’re looking at getting the replacement parts on the ifixit eu store. If there is somewhere better to look let me know please :)!

  • I think some 2010 MBPs can take 16gb RAM if you fit a certain type, would deffo consider 8gb while you’re in there. For SSD, look at Crucial. The model look-up feature at Macupgrades.co.uk is useful for checking max RAM, and other things.
