Lay off Newcastle - they're about to replace Ashley with our cuddly Saudi chums, who wouldn't countenance relegation. Bruce can almost hear the buzzing of the bonesaws.

I'm not really sure what Newcastle fans want. Ashley has already loaned the club well over £100m. They just seem to expect that an owner is there to give them limitless money rather than thinking that maybe spunking £40m on Joelinton is why they don't make that many signings.

If relegation meant that a club got sold and its present owners disappeared into the sunset, I would really hope that Newcastle and Wham would get relegated. I somehow feel, that if that was the certain result of relegation, many supporters would take it as well.
