  • Vertical dropouts with what looks like a brazed on shim for a QR. Don't know why but Woodrup rings a bell...

  • These C vertical dropouts are new to me. The extra inner ring is on both sides. Either end of the white panels have world rings, and can see many Holdsworths have this. I'm hoping someone will confidently be able to identify. The head lugs??

  • That's Brian.

  • Love the chrome rear triangle.

  • Lugs are Prugnat, there's a list somewhere on Retrobike with Holdsworth numbers, post the BB pic there and link here.

  • The number is in the right place for a Holdsworth and dates it to 66/67.
The curved brake bridge, prugnat lugs and cable guides also suggest Holdsworth, although I haven't seen one with those drop outs before and Holdsworth seat stay tops usually wrap over a little or completely around the top tube.

It looks as if it has been crashed as there is a ripple under the front of the top tube.

  • Many thanks for the info. What do the digits signify? Yes, pity about the previous crash and ripple. It can be lessened but not for me to attempt. I shall investigate transfers from 1967 . Possible model or was this custom job with those VDOs?

  • It looks like the number is 31228.
There is a link to a document containing frame numbers in this post:

  • This looks like aclaud butler electron super five.

Except for the dropouts and chrome. Looks like it has everything else

It may have been a custom order?

  • Thank you all for responding to my plee.
Kilgariff site shows an extensive amount of info on CB and Holdworth, and having been directed there, I can see a frame that is a most likely contender, Mistral 531 DB 'Extra ' having the new in 1966, Campagnolo vertical drop outs, (VDOs.)Pencil stays and options for chrome plating. About that time, there were difficulties in obtaining Chromium. I shall be trialling brush plating with Nickel but I hope not to file, Emery paper, polish right through the steel! I picked up some full chrome Tange front forks, as the frame very likely had these but in 531. I would appreciate any guidance for tranfers as there are NONE at the moment. Rob
