I don't even bother with coffee. I have a bag of caffeine powder I rub into my eyeballs while smoking ice through a bowl of liquid DMT.
Actually I started using my Handpresso in the mornings instead of instant. The big machine only really gets used on weekends. One of the reasons I want to get a smaller 2-boiler unit.

A smaller 2 boiler unit!? What machine are you referring to that you currently have? A 3 head Linea?

Wow okay ...
Also, for anyone in the area, Origin in Southwark does a free coffee for any coffee bags you buy. They also collect empty coffee bags for recycling through First Mile

I recently acquired a Brewista kettle adding another variable (temperature) to my Aeropress recipe.
Around 93°c seems to be the sweet spot for most coffees but what's really interesting is how vastly different a cup can taste depending on temp. Anyone else have any experience with playing with temps with the Aeropress?
My recipe is as follows
Inverted
Double filter (rinsed with hot water)
16g medium fine
230ml water
Pour all water in, stir, wait 1.15mins, invert push through until hiss.
Finished at 2.15 -

Only on the cheap work kettle for my aeropressing so not worrying about temperature yet...
Why the double filter? -

Bit of a random question but here goes.
Does anyone have a 'spare' grip for a keep cup that they have smashed? My Cork grip has disintegrated and I'm looking for a new one. I'm aware they sell them separately but to pick one up from someone on here would be preferable -

I have one somewhere....

Not playing with as such, but at my old office we had boiling water taps that were not very boiling at all. I'd leave it to brew for 4 minutes to get somewhat close to the cup I'd get at home with a kettle. Now at my current work it's 3 minutes as again, it's a boiling water tap but slightly more boiling.....

There was a ‘how it’s done’ program on tv before Christmas. Basically brew coffee (capture odour/steam in a vessel of some sort). Get rid of all the water which leaves a thin sheet of coffee concentrate. Break up the sheet into granules. Put the granules into the jar/can. Something special happens with the foil and can’t remember what. But as you seal the jar put in some of the odour captured earlier so that when the seal is broken by the consumer they get a fresh waft of coffee.

Anyone have familiarity with the Macaco minipresso ?
Worth it over an aeropress? -

It was from a recipe from a cafe here in Dublin. I tried it and like the result so kept it up. Have a go and see what you think. Should result in a slightly cleaner cup.

I had the worst espresso today.
Like drinking mouldy lemonade filtered through the cheapest of cigar ashes.
The place makes their own ice cream though, and that was pretty good. -

Perfectly consistent. Nothing to say it actually tastes good, just that it's consistent...
-
• #16775
Once it's consistent you can modify other variables to perfect taste.
And fully aware.
However, the tongue in cheek nature of my post was clearly lost in the medium.
